That's How U Learn It

Privacy Policy

We built THULI to help people learn practical skills — not to collect data for its own sake. This page explains what information we gather, why we need it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

This privacy policy applies to THULI – That's How U Learn It ("THULI", "we", "us", or "our"), an edtech company based in Korattur, Chennai, India. We operate thuli.in and related online services, including courses, tuitions, software solutions, and community events.

If you have questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at thuli.edu@gmail.com or call +91 70920 97170.

Information we collect

The type of information we collect depends on how you interact with us. We may collect the following:

  • Account details — name, email address, phone number, and password when you register for a THULI account.
  • Enquiry and contact information — details you submit through our contact form, WhatsApp messages, or email, including your name, phone number, email, message content, and the course or service you are interested in.
  • Payment information — when you purchase a course or service, payment processing is handled by our payment partner Razorpay. We receive confirmation of your transaction (such as order ID and payment status), but we do not store your full card or UPI credentials on our servers.
  • Course and usage data — information about programmes you enrol in, registrations, and activity within your student dashboard.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URLs, and general interaction data when you browse our website.
  • Cookie and tracking data — information collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, as described below.

How we collect information

  • Directly from you when you register, fill out forms, make a purchase, or contact us.
  • Automatically when you visit our website, through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Through third-party platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) when you interact with our ads or visit our site after seeing them.
  • From our service providers who help us operate the website, process payments, and deliver our programmes.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and student dashboard.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide customer support.
  • Process course enrolments, tuition registrations, and payments.
  • Deliver the educational programmes and services you sign up for.
  • Send important updates about your account, purchases, or scheduled sessions.
  • Improve our website, courses, and user experience.
  • Measure the performance of our marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • Show you relevant ads on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, including remarketing to people who have visited our website.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use our site, and measure our marketing efforts.

These may include:

  • Essential cookies — required for authentication, security, and basic site functionality (for example, keeping you logged in via Supabase).
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand traffic patterns and how people navigate our pages.
  • Advertising cookies and pixels — including tools provided by Meta (Facebook Pixel), which may collect information about your visit and link it to your Facebook or Instagram account where applicable.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect how some parts of the site work. You can also manage ad preferences through Facebook Ad Settings and Meta's ad preferences page.

Advertising and Meta platforms

We use Meta Business Suite and related tools (including the Meta Pixel) to run advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. These tools may collect or receive information about your activity on our website — such as pages viewed, actions taken, and device identifiers — and use it to show you relevant ads, measure ad performance, and build custom audiences.

Meta may also combine this data with information it already has about you based on your use of Facebook and Instagram. Meta's use of this data is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy. We do not receive your full Facebook or Instagram profile from Meta through these tools.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only in these situations:

  • Service providers — trusted partners who help us run our business, such as Supabase (hosting and authentication), Razorpay (payments), and Meta (advertising and analytics).
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice where required.

All service providers are expected to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

Data retention

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, for the duration of your account, to fulfil a course enrolment, or to meet legal and accounting requirements. Enquiry records are retained so we can follow up on your request and improve our services. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it where reasonably possible.

How we protect your data

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure connections (HTTPS), access controls, and trusted third-party infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

Children's privacy

THULI offers tuition and learning programmes that may involve students under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe we have collected a child's information without proper consent, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at thuli.edu@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. You may also delete your account by contacting us directly.

International data transfers

Our service providers may process data on servers located outside India, including in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through our agreements with those providers.

Third-party links

Our website may contain links to external sites such as Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing personal information with them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
